"Working with Forumm was a game-changer for us. They helped us transform mountains of campaign data into clear, actionable insights that our whole team could understand and use. Forumm’s approach was strategic but also incredibly collaborative and hey... they helped make data enjoyable to analyse! No easy feat."

Empowering KAUST with a Data-Driven Reporting Framework

Turning Digital Campaigns into Clear, Actionable Insights

When KAUST reached out with a big vision – creating a best-in-class reporting template and framework – we were in.

The goal? Build reports that make everyone’s lives easier, from the extremely busy executive team to detail-oriented data geeks, delivering insights that didn’t just sit on a page but inspired real action.

Our mission was to design a framework that could track what was working (and what wasn’t) while aligning all the internal teams. That meant not just one report but a layered approach, from bite-sized summaries for the execs to deep dives for Tony and his digital team.

Our Journey: Building a Custom Fit for KAUST

First, we put on our detective hats. We needed to understand exactly what KAUST needed, so we held workshops, checked out industry best practices, and brainstormed with their team to shape a system that actually fit. It wasn’t just about numbers on a page; it was about turning those numbers into something people could use.

The Magic Recipe: Three Levels of Reporting

Here’s what we came up with:

  • Executive Report: A snappy, one-page summary that delivered the main takeaways for execs – quick, scannable, and optimised for mobile (WhatsApp-ready, too, because who has time for downloading PDFs these days?).
  • Digital Team Report: A bit more meat here – two pages packed with audience insights, content performance, and KPIs to help the digital team make tweaks on the go.
  • Campaign Manager Report: For Tony and the strategy team, we built a deep-dive report with all the data points they could want, from Facebook likes to Times Higher Ed stats. This gave them everything they needed to spot trends and benchmark results.
Making it Easy to Stick to the Plan

To keep it all running smoothly, we set up a workflow: a calendar of who needed to deliver data when, best practices for keeping it all organised, and clear guidelines for reporting deadlines. Working out best practice of communication and transferring data with KAUST’s external suppliers was key to make sure every report looked as sharp as it was informative.

The Outcome? Clearer Insights, Happier Teams

So, did it work? Oh yes. Here’s what KAUST got out of it:

  1. Clarity for Leaders: With the one-pager in hand, execs could quickly get the scoop on digital campaigns without wading through data overload.
  2. Empowered Digital Team: The two-pager gave the digital team what they needed to pivot fast, adjusting strategies to deliver better results in real time.
  3. A Data Goldmine for Tony: Tony’s in-depth report let him dig into each campaign, spot patterns, and build on the wins.

Bringing Accountability and Collaboration to the Next Level

And the best part? Teams could actually see how their work fit into the bigger picture. With clear benchmarks and shared goals, they were motivated, ready to collaborate (and yes, a bit competitive about hitting those KPIs).

Looking Forward

This framework gives KAUST a solid foundation for long-term growth. They can track campaigns in real time and make strategic tweaks along the way. It’s been amazing to see them use this system to drive engagement and keep up with their ambitious goals.

So, cheers to Tony and the KAUST team for letting us partner with them on this journey! Here’s to many more data-driven wins ahead. If you’re looking to turn campaign chaos into clear, actionable insights, we’re ready when you are.

When Suzanne and the Strathclyde Alumni team approached Forumm to review their social media interaction with their community we jumped at the opportunity. Strathclyde is one of those universities that we generally use as examples of best practice, but the team there were looking at ways to make content creation more sustainable.

New Beginnings, New Feeds, and a Dash of Island Charm

So, when the brand-new UHI North, West, and Hebrides team reached out to us, they had a pretty tall order: make a merged college’s digital presence feel like one, cohesive voice – something that would feel right at home in the remote yet vibrant communities of the Highlands and Islands.

Cornell University

When Cornell first reached out about their annual Alumni Leadership Week, we couldn’t wait to get started! This is the big one for Cornell – a three-day whirlwind of talks, networking, and deep dives into leadership topics held on campus in Ithaca. But this year, they wanted to make it accessible to alumni all over the world. Because not everyone can just hop over to New York, right?

So, we rolled up our sleeves and got to work on making this hybrid vision a reality. The plan was to create a virtual experience that made online attendees feel as close to the action as the folks actually in the room. And we had our work cut out for us: live interactions, online Q&As, breakout sessions, and a whole four-week replay period to boot! Weekly check-ins with Cornell’s alumni team helped us iron out every last detail, and before we knew it, event day was around the corner.
